Chapter 6 "Of Prey and Hunters"

~~Kaie's POV~~

Okay let me say this first…I officially hate that wench called Westenramon!

It seems she was the footsteps we heard after finally finding the others and she somehow transported us to another place where we heard someone say something about prey. No idea who or what is talking, but I have the sick feeling they mean us to be the prey. 'This is not good,' I thought to myself. I glanced around at the group to see that many of us were scared and the Digimon were out of breath and didn't look like they were ready to fight or anything, well except for Kevamon who seemed ready to go. "No Keva," I told her.

"Why the heck not?" she demanded and I nodded back the rest of the group who were looking scared, cold, and wanted to get away. "Fine!" she grumbled as she came back to my side. "So what do we do?"

"Get out of here and as quickly as possible," I answered then I looked to Josh who seemed to scanning the area searching for anything. I glanced around too getting colder by the second and getting grumpier since I hate to be as cold as I was getting. I heard strange boots heading our way. "We need to move!" I called out. With that we all began to hurry away to try to escape the 'hunters'. I soon realized I was the slowest one of the bunch considering my bruised left ankle. I looked behind me then back at the others as I came to a stop.

Kevamon stopped at my side and looked to me. "What's wrong?" she questioned me.

I was glancing around at our surroundings and didn't answer her. There was a somewhat heavy snow storm which was making it difficult to see too far ahead of you, but from what I could make out of the area was that we were in a winter type place, duh, and the slightest sound could possibly set off an avalanche at any time. Before I could reply to my digital friend I felt a hand grip my right arm making me turn to see Leone and 'Tzi' standing there. "Are you 'loco in la cabeza'? Get moving!" Leone said trying to tug me towards where the others had disappeared to.

Suddenly the sound of a gun rang out causing the four of us to glance around sharply and then…we heard a low rumble. Fearfully I glanced up to where it sounded like the rumble was and to my horror saw a wave of snow rushing right at me and Leone. I didn't fight the scream that from my lips. How the heck was I going to survive this?! "Kaie!" I heard Kevamon shout as she rushed ahead of me towards the sea of snow.

Just then a glow came from pocket where I had placed that strange device I had gotten when Kevamon's egg first hatched and it was glowing like it had before when Brimon became Kevamon. The light grew brighter and then I noticed Kevamon was also glowing. "What the?" I questioned.

"Kevamon…digivolve to…" Kevamon grew to what looked like 9'6" standing on all fours. She kept her fur and eye color yet her face became more fox like. The diamond on her back grew bigger with her body and her tail split into two separate tails that still looked like her normal tail. "…Tannusmon!" she exclaimed as electricity rolled off her fur.

"T-Tannusmon?" I questioned unsure what was going on and I saw out of the corner of my eye Leone's surprised face at Kevamon's change. I came out of my shock feeling the rush of wind from the oncoming avalanche coming at me and Leone.

"Stay behind me!" I heard Tannusmon call out over the roar, "I will protect you!" I did as she said hiding behind her tails as they glowed with electricity. "Volt Strike!" she shouted as she sent her attack at the oncoming snow evaporating it before it could hit us. I closed my eyes to shield them from the snow so it wouldn't get in my eyes and after a while the roar of the avalanche faded and I opened my eyes to see it was all quiet. "You okay?" Tannusmon questioned me.

"Yeah I'm…" I paused. Something wasn't right. I then remembered Leone and 'Tzi' had been with us and I did not see them anywhere. "Leone! Tzi!" I called out as loud as I could as I shook from being out in the cold so long. I turned every which way trying to spot them.

"I'll find them," Tannusmon told me as moved beside me, "But first I have to get you out of the cold. Hop on." I did as she told me and climbed onto her back. She then wrapped her tails around me to help keep me warm as she made for a cave where I saw the others at. Some of them had different Digimon with them so I supposed some of the Digimon changed just like Kevamon had. "Watch her and keep her warm. I'm going to look for Leone and Tzitzimon," Tannusmon said as I was helped off her back by Shannon, Anya, and Tora. Then she turned right around and headed back out to look for anyone who was lost out there beside Leone and 'Tzi'.

'Please find them,' I pleaded in my mind to Tannusmon watching her form disappear from view.
