[InuKage has his arm around Hikaru who is leaning against his chest. Hanako falls back to sleep and smiles]

[Kuro unleashes demons at the gang]

[InuKage slashes with Tetsusaiga with Legion next to him also fighting]
Minna onaji fuan kakaete sasaeaeru yo
[Kane punches some as Mejika speeds past others]
Tachidomaru shunkan ni mitsumete'ru
[Seiundanko slashes at other demons, as does Neko]

[Kiyoshi and Sachi are fighting together]

Chapter one “Reincarnation”

~~Hikaru’s POV~~

My name is Hikaru Haruno and I’m 19 years old. I have brown hair with stripes of light brown in it and blue eyes. It is the year 2006 and I’m about to a very exciting adventure with a bunch of weird people. Right now me and my family consisting of my little sister Ami, mom Kin, dad Shiro, grandma Nara, grandpa Toji, two cats Jezebel and Luna, a dog Blackie, and me are moving into a Shinto shrine called the Sunset shrine. We don’t know why the original family was selling the shine at such a cheep price, but they did and we bought it.

It was evening on our first night there when I saw a wired looking fox or at least I though it was a fox. It looked like a regular fox, but its eyes were a bright blue and there seemed to be a black diamond on its forehead. I was looking out the bedroom window in my new room when I saw it walking across the grounds. After about 5 more nights seeing it again and again I decided I would follow it to see where it lived.

On the sixth night I was ready. I was dressed in my favorite attire, pink t-shirt, jeans, white socks and white sneakers, and I sat by the window watching and waiting for the fox. When I saw it I let it see me and then I opened the window. I slowly began to climb the tree that lay right outside my window down to the ground. When my feet touched ground I saw the fox head right into the mini shrine on the property. It slipped inside through a hole in the wall to the shrine.

I walked over to the shrine and saw a seal on the door. It read “Do not enter unless you care nothing for your life”. I though this was odd, but slowly and quietly I opened the door and went inside. For some strange reason I couldn’t find the weird fox anywhere. In the middle of the shine was a well and when I peered over the edge of the well to see that it was a dried up well with a ladder leading to the bottom. ‘Now why is there a ladder in a dry well?’ I asked myself.

Suddenly I felt myself being lifted up and over the side of the well. As I fell in I looked back to see the strange fox looking over the edge at me. Just then I noticed that I was falling for a long time. I glanced around to see weird blue lights around me. Slowly I found my footing and then I felt ground beneath my feet. I glanced up to see some vines hanging low into the well so I gabbed them and began to climb out of the well.

Once out of the well I found myself not in the mini shrine anymore, but in the middle of a forest. I began to walk away from the well when the strange fox leapt over my head from the well and landed in front of me on its feet. “So you’re the new one,” it said in a female voice and I gasped in surprise.

“Who…what are you?” I asked it.

The fox wagged its tail as it spoke again. “My name is Hanako. I’m known as a Fire Fox, which is a very rare breed in itself,” the fox, Hanako, said.

“Where am I?”

“This may sound weird, but you are in the past known as Feudal Japan,” she explained.

“You mean like in the story of InuYasha?” I asked her. Hanako seemed a bit surprised and sad at the same time.

“How do you know about InuYasha?” Hanako asked me.

“In 1996 an anime called InuYasha began. (Sorry if you disagree with me on this, but it’s still just a made up story) I love watching it, but what am I doing here?”

“I’ll let Kaede answer that since she is wiser then me, but we must hurry cause I think her time is growing short.” With that I followed Hanako to a village that I recognized right away.

As we headed for Kaede’s hut I saw that the villagers were all staring at me. “Um…Hanako? Why are they staring at me?”

“They know that if you are here and following me that…um…” She didn’t finish. I was wondering what was wrong, but left that behind as we entered Kaede’s hut.

Once inside I saw Kaede looking pale as she lay in a bedroll. Next to her were Shippo and Kirara. Neither of the two looked like the aged over the years. They turned and saw Hanako and then they saw me. “Hi,” Shippo said.

“Who is it Shippo?” came Kaede’s weak voice.

“It’s Hanako and she has a girl with her,” Shippo explained.

“Come here child,” Kaede called to me. I walked forward so she could see me. “My dear you must find InuYasha.”

“Why?”

“He disappeared after we burned Kagome’s body,” Shippo explained.

“What?! Kagome died?” I asked. Shippo nodded. Suddenly Kirara began to hiss.

“Something’s coming,” Hanako said.

I went outside with Kirara, Shippo, and Hanako following. What I saw coming at the village made me wish I had just let Hanako alone. It was Mistress Centipede. Some how she was brought back to life. “Do either of you three know where Inu might be?” I asked my new friends.

Kirara meowed and I looked to Hanako and Shippo for answers. “She knows where InuYasha is,” Hanako said.

“Take us to him,” I told the fire cat and she went to her bigger form. I hopped onto her back and was joined by Shippo and Hanako. “First fly over Mistress Centipede and then take us as fast as you can to InuYasha.” Kirara nodded and did as I told her. Mistress Centipede saw us and gave chase. Soon we came upon a cave a few miles from the village. When Kirara let us off of her at the entrance to the cave I turned to her. “Try to stall that demon as best you can.” She nodded and I entered the cave with Shippo and Hanako. We walked for a long time until we came to a dead end where the rest of the way was blocked by some weird ice.

“Where is he?” Shippo asked.

I walked forward towards the ice. I could make out the outline of someone in the ice, but I couldn’t tell who it was. “There’s someone in this ice.” Hanako and Shippo looked at me and then they closer at the ice.

“She’s right!” Hanako said.

For some odd reason it felt as if someone was guiding my movements as I placed my hand on the ice and it began to crack. Both Hanako and Shippo leapt back in surprise. Hanako behind my leg while Shippo leapt into my arms. “What’s going on?!” Shippo exclaimed.

“I don’t know,” I said. Suddenly Kirara was hurled into the cave and changed back to her smaller form. “Kirara!” I cried. Slithering in came Mistress Centipede.

“Stay back Hikaru,” Hanako told me and I turned to see that she had grown to the size of Kirara in her big form, but still had her eye color, diamond, and fur color. To give you a better description it was a fox and a saber tooth mixed together.

“Hanako?”

“Yupe. I’m part fire cat and fox demon. So I can take on this form whenever I want. Don’t worry. I’ll protect you,” she said and leapt at the centipede. “Fox Flame!” A big ball of fire shoots out of her mouth and at the demon. But it didn’t seem to affect it.

“I’ll help,” Shippo said dashing up to join Hanako, “Fox Fire!”

“Be careful Shippo,” I called to him. Suddenly Mistress Centipede lashed out at them and knocked them down. I had to do something quick otherwise it seemed that Mistress Centipede was going to devour them. I saw some chunks of ice and rock on the ground. So I picked some up and hurled them at the centipede that was hungrily at Shippo. “Leave them alone you hag!” I hollered at her as tossed more ice and rocks at her.

She turned to me as one rock hit her right in the face. “You child!” she hollered at me as she lunged for me.

“Stay away from me!” I cried closing my eyes and holding out my left hand towards her.

“Hikaru look!” Shippo called. I opened my eye to see a pink glow coming from my hand and it sent the centipede demon reeling.

“How did I do that?” I asked looking at my hand.

“Hikaru!” I heard Hanako cry. I suddenly felt pain in my left side. I glanced down and saw blood coming from my side. Also on the floor I saw a strange pink gem glowing.

“The Shikon jewel? Oh no!” I cried as I realized what Hanako was trying to say when I asked her why the villagers were looking at me. I am the reincarnation of Kagome. Suddenly I saw Mistress Centipede snatch up the jewel. “No! Give that back!” I hollered at the demon.

“My goodness. You are spunky,” the demon said.

“Heh. I’ve seen others with a lot more spunk,” a new voice said. A red blur rushed right past me and behind Mistress Centipede stood InuYasha. “Hanako, you, Shippo, and Kirara all right?” he asked.

“We’ll be good when you send that demon packing,” Shippo said.

InuYasha glanced at me and then he tossed something to me. It was the Shikon jewel. “Keep a hold of that,” he told me. The he drew his sword. “Wind…Scar!” he hollered. With that Mistress Centipede was destroyed. Kirara, Hanako, and Shippo came right over to me once the battle was over.

“Are you all right Hikaru?” Hanako asked me.

“Yeah, but that centipede got me in my side,” I said.

“No wonder I could smell blood.” We all turned to InuYasha who sheathed the Tetsusaiga. “Who are you?” he asked as I slowly got to my feet.

“My name is Hikaru Haruno. My family just recently moved in at the Sunset shrine. I bet I now know why the past family moved out.”

“Yes. They moved because they wanted nothing else to do with the past although I couldn’t say the same for Sota,” Hanako explained.

“Heh. That brat always wanted to come here, but Kagome never let him. It’s a good thing too otherwise Kagome’s mom would really hate me,” InuYasha said.

“We should get back to Kaede,” Shippo said as he sat on Kirara’s back.

“How’s she doing?” Inu asked.

“She didn’t look well when we left her after seeing Mistress Centipede heading for the village,” I explained.

“Hanako you Shippo and Kirara head back to the village and check on Kaede. Me and Hikaru will be following,” InuYasha instructed.

The three left and I looked at InuYasha. “I could’ve gone with them.”

“You seem different than any of the other girls I met her in my time and in Kagome’s time,” he said and I was slightly taken back. Then I shook my head. He was already picking up something about me. This is going to be one fun adventure after another for me.

“Like I told Hanako when I first got here back in my time there is a show named after you and it is all about your adventures here in the past and Kagome’s time,” I explained, “Although they never mentioned about Hanako in any of the tales.”

“What about Neko? Do they say anything about him?” InuYasha asked.

“No. Why?”

“Heh. That stupid cat. He was always on the move and never stayed in one area too long. Never mind. Let’s get back to the village and get your side looked at,” InuYasha said allowing me to get on his back.

“You really want me to ride on your back?” I asked after I was on. He nodded and then he bolted for the village.

And that is how my whole adventure in the past began. Pretty eventful wouldn’t you say. But this is just the half of the story. There’s more to it. I know you have question and I bet they are the same as mine. Who killed Kagome? Who brought Mistress Centipede back? And what am I doing with these guys in past? All our questions will be answered soon I hope plus some more new friends are on the way. Who are they? You’ll find out next time on InuYasha GX! See ya then!
